Social Innovation Advisory Council

To help advance Canada’s Social Innovation and Social Finance (SI/SF) Strategy, the Government of Canada created the Social Innovation Advisory Council (SIAC). Its strategic advice will help to inform the Government of Canada’s path towards:

• advancing inclusive social innovation and social finance approaches
• supporting the growth of social purpose organizations in Canada, including charities, non-profits, social enterprises, co-operatives and businesses with a social mission

Some key priorities that the SIAC will focus on include:

• the remaining recommendations of the SI/SF Strategy Co-Creation Steering Group from their 2018 report, Inclusive Innovation
• the future direction on the SI/SF Strategy initiatives that the Government of Canada is currently implementing
• emerging issues of relevance to the SI/SF Strategy and social purpose organizations in Canada
