Service Canada assesses applications on a constituency-by-constituency basis.

Members of Parliament (MPs) can identify local priorities for their constituency. Local priorities take into account local labour market needs including sectors experiencing labour shortages.

Applications that support local priorities will receive additional points during Service Canada’s assessment.
