Service Canada assesses applications on a constituency-by-constituency basis.

Members of Parliament (MPs) can identify local priorities for their constituency. Local priorities take into account local labour market needs including sectors experiencing labour shortages.

Applications that support local priorities will receive additional points during Service Canada’s assessment.

Note that it is not mandatory for Members of Parliament to establish local priorities. You will not be penalized during assessment if your Member of Parliament has not established local priorities.
