This information bulletin updates notice #948 – Revised income brackets for the Canada Learning Bond (CLB) for the July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 benefit year.

Purpose

The purpose of this information bulletin is to inform promoters and trustees that the income brackets used, in part, to determine eligibility for the CLB have been indexed for the July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, benefit year.

Background

The CLB is subject to section 6(1) of the Canada Education Savings Act which uses, in part, the adjusted income of a beneficiary’s individual primary caregiver to determine eligibility for the CLB. These amounts are indexed yearly, based on inflation.

Adjusted income brackets for the 2023 to 2024 benefit year

As such, for the July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 benefit year, eligibility for the CLB will be based, in part, on the following:

Note: Larger families with higher adjusted incomes may also be eligible for the CLB. Information relating to CLB eligibility for larger families with higher adjusted incomes is available on request.
