Tanya Bryant: Director, Environmental Emergencies Division

“I love problem solving with colleagues and partners. Collaboration informs policies, programs and regulations that allow Canadians to be better prepared in environmental emergency prevention and management.”
As the Director of Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Environmental Emergencies Division, Tanya comes to work each day to improve environmental outcomes when an oil or chemical spill occurs. Since joining the department 11 years ago, Tanya’s work has connected her to emergency professionals, whose wide range of scientific and operational backgrounds, contribute to her ability to succeed. During an emergency, it’s important that people are coordinated and all pulling in the same direction, so working out solutions ahead of time is the major thrust of Tanya’s work.
