Prime Minister Trudeau and Minister McKenna welcome United Nations delegation to Canada on World Environment Day

June 5, 2017– Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario – Environment and Climate Change Canada

Today, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, welcomed United Nations Environment Programme officials to Canada for World Environment Day.

Prime Minister Trudeau and Minister McKenna affirmed Canada’s commitment to taking action on climate change and promoting clean economic growth.

The theme for World Environment Day 2017 is “Connecting People to Nature.”
