Environment and Climate Change Canada to hold media availability on upcoming potential heavy rainfall for parts of Eastern Canada

Media advisory

Gatineau, Quebec – August 7, 2024 – Media representatives are advised that Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) will hold a media availability on the upcoming potential for heavy rainfall associated with the moisture from remnants of Tropical Storm Debby in parts of Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces starting Friday and continuing into the weekend.

ECCC’s Meteorological Service of Canada is monitoring moisture from the remnants of Debby as it moves northeastward. However, there remains some uncertainty as to how the storm will track as it makes its way to Canada.

The media availability will be held via Zoom. Following the briefing, media will have the opportunity to ask questions.
