Calculate the dry gas volume on a dry basis referenced to 25°C and 101.3 kPa using Equation 1.

Calculate the concentrations of gaseous HCl on a dry basis referenced to 25°C and 101.3 kPa by using Equation 2 (mg/m³, w/v) or Equation 3 (ppm, v/v).

The HCl concentration may be corrected to 50% excess air or 12% CO₂ or 11% O₂ using Equations 4, 5 and 6 respectively.

(C_HCl)_mg/m³: concentration of HCl in the stack gas on a dry basis at 298 K and 101.3 kPa, mg/m³
(C_HCl)_ppm: concentration of HCl in the stack gas on a dry basis at 298 K and 101.3 kPa, ppm
(C_HCl)_{12% CO₂}: concentration of HCl corrected to a basis of 12% CO₂, mg/m³ or ppm
(C_HCl)_{50% EA}: concentration of HCl corrected to a basis of 50% excess air, mg/m³ or ppm
(C_HCl)_{11% O₂}: concentration of HCl corrected to a basis of 11% oxygen, mg/m³ or ppm
EA: proportion of air in excess of that required for stoichiometric combustion, % (by volume)
P_bar: barometric pressure at the test site, kPa
T_m: the average dry gas meter temperature over the run, K
V_m: total volume of gas sampled through the dry gas meter on a dry basis, m³
(V_m)_ref: total volume of gas sampled through the dry gas meter on a dry basis referenced to 298 K and 101 kPa, m³
V_s: total volume of liquid sample in the storage container, mL
% CO₂: average value of CO₂ in the stack gas from the integrated bag sample, % (by volume)
% O₂: average value of O₂ in the stack gas from the integrated bag sample, % (by volume)
% N₂: 100 - % CO₂ - % O₂, % (by volume)
Y: dry gas meter factor, dimensionless
