Rationale for list of regulated substances under Canadian Environmental Protection Act: chapter 8

8. Explosive and Miscellaneous Substances Identified in the CRAIM List

Hydrogen peroxide at concentration of 52% or greater, sodium chlorate, ammonium perchlorate and explosive class 1.1 are listed as explosives in the CRAIM List and white phosphorus is listed as a substance that can cause a significant impact (in case of fire). With the exception of explosives class 1.1 governed by specific regulations, the remainder of the substances in this group were retained.
