National Wildlife Areas (NWA)
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) establishes marine and terrestrial NWAs for the purposes of conservation, research and interpretation. NWAs are established under the authority of the Canada Wildlife Act to protect migratory birds, species at risk, and other wildlife and their habitats. We have compiled a list of ECCC publications to give you easy access to in depth information of what truly goes into protecting NWAs and why they are so important.
