Contorted-pod evening-primrose (Camissonia contorta) COSEWIC assessment and status report: chapter 12
Acknowledgements and Authorities Contacted
We I would like to thank Tracy Fleming (Capital Regional District) and Andrew Harcombe (BC Conservation Data Centre) for arranging financial and organizational support for this study.
Dr. Adolf Ceska and Mrs. Oldriska Ceska helped usme survey extant and extirpated populations on the Saanich Peninsula. Phil Henderson (Strix Consulting) provided detailed information on a population he discovered at Savary Island and surveyed a number of other sites including Goose Spit, Roberts Bank and Centennial Park. Liz Webster (Savary Island Land Trust) showed usme a second population on Savary Island as well as other potential sites on the island.
WeI greatly appreciate the contributions from two botanists who surveyed two sites on my behalf: Nick Page surveyed Goose Spit and Frank Lomer surveyed Centennial Park (Tsawwassen). Several other biologists assisted me in surveys of potential sites, including Dr. Robb Bennett (Garry Oak Ecosystems Recovery Team), Jenifer Penny, Marta Donovan and Shane Ford (BC Conservation Data Centre), Erica Wheeler and Heidi Guest (University of Victoria), and Brian Reader (Parks Canada).
WeI particularly wish to thank Dr. Hans Roemer who helped me sample vegetation plots containing Camissonia contorta and who has been an excellent sounding board for my ideas on the species’ biology and distribution.
