Special Significance of the Species
Populations of Silene scouleri ssp. grandis in British Columbia are at the northern extent of their range and may represent a genetically distinct element important for the long-term survival and evolution of the species.
Silene scouleri is an attractive garden plant and a number of commercial nurseries supply the species (e.g. Elkhorn Native Plant Nursery, Native Plant Sales)
Essences of Silene scouleri are also commercially available from Flower Essence Society.
