Bill Freedman is a Professor and Chair of the Biology Department of Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. He has conducted extensive research on the ecological effects of anthropogenic activities. He has written several textbooks, including Environmental Ecology (2nd ed., Academic Press) and Environmental Science. A Canadian Perspective (2nd ed., Prentice Hall Canada).

Jim Jotcham is the Principal in the environmental consulting firm Marbicon Inc., based in Berwick, NS. He has engaged in numerous studies in forestry, botany, and ecology.
