Lake of the Woods Business Incentive Corporation
$164,000

A FedNor investment of $164,000, through the Community Futures Program, will enable the Lake of the Woods Business Incentive Corporation to coordinate the training and meeting needs of the Northwest Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) Network for a two-year period. The funding is designed to facilitate a forum for the exchange of best practices and professional training among the network's nine member organizations, ultimately growing the size and quality of the CFDC investment funds in the region in support of small business development and growth.

Corporation of the City of Kenora
$100,000

With an investment of $100,000, the City of Kenora will repair the roof of the Kenora SportsPlex, helping to maintain the structural integrity of the facility. The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) funding, delivered through FedNor, is part of the Government of Canada's coordinated approach to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. These investments will help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities, and celebrate Canada's rich heritage and history.

Lake of the Woods Development Corporation
$25,000

Acoustics at the Whitecap Pavilion, located at Kenora's Harbourfront, will be improved thanks to a Canada CIP 150 investment of $25,000, provided through FedNor. The funding will assist with the purchase and installation of ceiling sound baffles, designed to enhance the calibre of the performance venue. Canada CIP 150 is designed to leave a lasting legacy by supporting the rehabilitation or improvement of existing community infrastructure assets and facilities across the country that promote community and cultural benefits for the public.
