Government of Canada Invests in Community Infrastructure to Enhance Water Safety and Fire Protection in the Town of Latchford

May 17, 2017 – Latchford, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor

A Government of Canada investment of $22,526 will help the Town of Latchford purchase and install a permanent emergency generator at the town’s water plant. Since 2015, the facility has been operating with a temporary rental unit and the community has been searching for an adequate, permanent solution to ensure continued safe water and emergency fire services for its residents.

Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing—Timiskaming, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced this Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program investment.
