International Trade Minister to promote trade and investment with the Prime Minister in Cuba, Argentina and Peru

The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of International Trade, will be in Cuba, Argentina and Peru from November 15 to 20, 2016, as part of the Prime Minister’s Canadian delegation.

The Minister will meet with representatives of Canadian businesses in these countries and promote inclusive and progressive trade that benefits the middle class.

While in Peru, the Minister will also attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting in support of the Prime Minister. APEC brings together some of the largest and most dynamic economies in the world to promote sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. The Minister most recently participated in an APEC trade ministers’ meeting in Arequipa, Peru, in May of 2016.
