Counterterrorism and justice
The Government of Canada will provide $250,000 over three years to the African Centre for the Study and Research on Terrorism, a structure of the AUC, to address legal issues involved in handling and prosecuting terrorism-related cases in East Africa and the Horn of Africa region. The program seeks to build the capacities of African Union member states to effectively investigate, prosecute and deliver justice in terrorism-related cases in the context of internationally accepted instruments of the rule of law.
