Minister Carr to welcome U.K. Secretary of State for International Trade to Canada

When Canadian small and medium-sized businesses expand into global markets, their innovative, high-quality products and services create well-paying jobs for middle-class Canadians. Canada and the United Kingdom have long enjoyed a strong commercial relationship with close cooperation in many sectors, including financial services, aerospace, defence, and science and technology.

The Honourable Jim Carr, Minister of International Trade Diversification, today announced that he will host Liam Fox, Secretary of State for International Trade of the United Kingdom, in Ottawa, on September 17, 2018.

During the visit, Minister Carr and Secretary of State Fox will engage in discussions on deepening the long-standing commercial relationship between Canada and the United Kingdom and strengthening the cherished people-to-people ties between the two countries. Minister Carr will also be hosting a luncheon on the occasion of the visit with industry leaders in the financial services sector.
