Minister Joly to travel to the United States

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that she will be travelling to Washington, D.C., United States, on November 12, 2021. This is Minister Joly’s first official trip as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

She will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to advance shared priorities under the Roadmap for a Renewed United States-Canada Partnership.

During her meetings, the Minister will highlight the importance of our countries’ partnership for economic recovery, creating jobs on both sides of the border, and strengthening our supply chains.

Minister Joly will also participate in a roundtable discussion on democracy with like-minded stakeholders to discuss views on how to strengthen international cooperation to advance democracy and human rights internationally.
