Parliamentary Secretary Sidhu to travel to Chicago

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced today that Maninder Sidhu, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will travel to Chicago, Illinois, on August 23-24, 2023, to promote Canadian priorities related to economic collaboration and job creation on both sides of the border.

During his visit, Parliamentary Secretary Sidhu will attend bilateral meetings with members of the U.S. Congress to establish relationships, and will participate in a business roundtable discussion to obtain insights on Canadian and U.S. companies experiences and challenges doing cross-border business.

In addition, Parliamentary Secretary Sidhu will visit the Canadian Pacific Bensenville Intermodal Terminal to better understand the functioning of this major continental cargo transportation hub. He will also visit the brand-new electric vehicle manufacturing facility of Quebec-based Lion Electric Company, a significant Canadian investor in Illinois.
