What we’re doing

In order to meet people’s expectations, the government needs to change not only what it is doing, but how it’s been doing it. This work has been happening in consultation with experts both outside and within the federal government. The Digital Government team is assessing the operating environment and analyzing key issues. Digital Government has identified four areas of work as critical to transforming how people experience their interactions with, and the services they receive from, their government.

These four areas of work are:

  1. Modernizing the way we replace, build, and manage major IT systems
  2. Providing services to people when and where they need them
  3. Taking a coordinated approach to digital operations
  4. Transforming how we work
