Corporate Services Branch (CSB) Eligible Retiree and CSB Retiree Alumni Inventory: Privacy impact assessment

Description of Program

The CSB Eligible Retiree and CSB Retiree Alumni Inventory is a pilot project intended to support knowledge exchange, skills-sharing, coaching and mentoring, among CSB professionals (i.e. young or mid-career professionals and eligible retirees) either prior to or after an interested CSB employee retires. Participation is strictly voluntary. It is delivered only to CSB employees by the Human Resources Directorate, Corporate Services Branch, Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Why was a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) completed?

It was determined that the CSB Eligible Retiree and CSB Retiree Alumni Inventory required a PIA because it uses personal information as part of a decision‐making process that directly affects the individual.

The PIA examines the privacy-related risks of the CSB Eligible Retiree and CSB Retiree Alumni Inventory and proposes methods to lower these risks.

The PIA recommended mitigation actions in the following risk areas: retention and disposition schedules and safeguarding.
