Government of Canada improves access to health services for Anglophone minority communities in Quebec

The following projects aim to improve access to health services in English for official language minority communities (OLMCs) in Quebec.
Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN)
Project: Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN)’s Community Health Network and Innovation Project
Funding: $32,285,000
The project will support the interconnected and complementary activities of CHSSN’s 23 affiliated community health networks and 14 satellite centres to mobilize communities, develop knowledge, adapt services and implement innovative projects to improve access to health services for OLMC members.
McGill University
Project: McGill University - Training and Retention of Health and Social Services Professionals
Funding: $20,673,314
The project will focus on three primary programs designed to build and maintain the capacity of health and social services professionals to provide bilingual services including: the provision of language training and resources tailored to the needs of health and social services professionals, intake staff and students; initiatives to recruit, employ, and retain bilingual health professionals in Quebec; and, research projects that address access.
