Background
The 26 industry-restricted gas oils and kerosenes were initially included among 42 substances assessed as a part of the Draft Screening Assessment for Gas Oils and Kerosenes. Following the publication of the draft assessment, new information was received. This new information resulted in the removal of 16 substances from the original group of 42 substances:
- Fifteen of those substances are being evaluated as the Gas Oils and Kerosenes with Uses in Products Available to Consumers Group
- One of those substances (CAS RN 64724-88-7) is being evaluated with low boiling point naphthas
This new information also resulted in a change to the ecological conclusion for the 26 substances, from harmful to not harmful to the environment at levels of exposure considered in the assessment.
