Nomination of Substances to the Revised In Commerce List
FINAL NOTICE: The nomination process for the R-ICL ends one year after publication of the Final Notice in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on November 3, 2019, and no further nominations will be accepted thereafter. See the Final Notice - Termination of the Revised In Commerce Substances List nomination process for further information.
The Nominations Process
To assist individuals wishing to nominate substances to the Revised In Commerce List (R-ICL) or individuals wishing to learn more about the process, Health Canada offers the following tools:
1. Guidance documents
The guidance document assists nominators in completing the forms by providing important information including:
- Which substances are eligible for nomination;
- Substance identification criteria;
- Sample nomination forms;
- How to submit nominations; and
- How Health Canada will process and evaluate a nomination package.
To nominate one or more eligible substances to the R-ICL, an authorized representative of the nominating company must print out, complete and sign the nomination form and submit the paper copy to Health Canada.
2. Nomination forms
The Nomination Form for Chemicals and Polymers and the Nomination Form for Living Organisms are both available from Health Canada.
