Privacy Notice

The personal information you provide to Health Canada is collected by the Food and Nutrition Directorate. This information is collected under the authority of Department of Health Act and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act. The Act sets rules on government institutions' collection, use, disclosure, and retention of personal information. It provides individuals with:

  1. The right to access your personal information under the control of the Food and Nutrition Directorate;
  2. The right to request a correction and/or notation to your personal information; and
  3. The right to complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you feel your personal information has been handled improperly.
