Infant formulas reviewed by Health Canada

Health Canada must review all infant formulas before they can be sold on the Canadian market to make sure they are safe and contain all the nutrition a baby needs. Infant formulas for which Health Canada has completed a review are listed below. These have satisfied all Health Canada requirements for infant formula, are compliant with the Food and Drug Regulations, and are safe for consumption. This list includes only infant formula available for consumers in retail stores and pharmacies and excludes products that are reserved for medical use such as hospital nutrition products and metabolic products.

In addition, other infant formulas listed under Health Canada's interim policy may currently be available in certain retailers. These were imported to strengthen the limited supply of infant formula and are from countries with high manufacturing and regulatory standards such as those in Canada. Infant formula listed under the interim policy can be moved to the list above if a premarket submission is filed with Health Canada and once all the submitted information has been reviewed and found to be satisfactory.
