Biography
Ern Bieman holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a Master’s of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a Master’s of Business Administration from Queen’s University. Ern has worked as a systems engineer and a technical specialist in the private sector and in the education system. He has also worked in non-profit and government sectors, managing grants and contributions for Internet research projects. Since 2007, Ern has worked for the Canadian Heritage Information Network, where he focuses on matters surrounding digitization and digital preservation of cultural heritage. He is actively involved in advisory groups, discussion groups and steering committees on these topics. His work is published in peer-reviewed journals and on government websites. He has given numerous presentations, lectures and workshops on these topics.
