Backgrounder: Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador invest in building safer communities on the Great Northern Peninsula
Backgrounder
Joint federal, provincial, and municipal funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure plan will support five road projects and three water projects on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador. These investments will support safer, healthier, and more sustainable communities.
The Government of Canada is investing over $1.18 million in these projects through the Rural and Northern Infrastructure Stream, the Green Infrastructure Stream and the federal Gas Tax Fund. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is contributing $971,980, while municipalities on the Great Northern Peninsula are contributing over $727,000.
