Press conference concerning an important announcement regarding recreational and sports infrastructures in the region region of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean

Alma, Québec, April 29, 2021 – Media representatives are invited to a virtual press conference during which the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities and Member of Parliament for Ottawa Centre, the Honourable Catherine McKenna, and the Minister for Education and Minister responsible for the Status of Women, Isabelle Charest, will make an announcement concerning recreational and sports infrastructure in the region.

For the occasion, they will be accompanied by Andrée Laforest, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Minister responsible for the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region and MNA for Chicoutimi, Éric Girard, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and MNA for Lac-Saint-Jean, and Marc Asselin, Mayor of Alma.

Instructions for participating in the event

The maximum number of journalists present has been established at 20, including cameras. If you represent a media organization and wish to participate in the virtual event, you must register in advance, before April 30 at 8 a.m., by writing to: relationsmedias@education.gouv.qc.ca, A confirmation of your presence will be forwarded to you.

Those attending the press conference must not have symptoms similar to those of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with the disease in the last 14 days. Great importance will be placed on adherence to the rules of physical distancing and other hygiene measures. Please note that wearing a face covering is mandatory.
