Backgrounder: Canada and Ontario invest over $2 million in improved community, culture, and recreational infrastructure in Eastern Ontario
Backgrounder
Joint federal, provincial, and recipient funding through the Investing in Canada Plan will support three community and culture infrastructure projects in three communities in Eastern Ontario.
The Government of Canada is investing more than $1.1 million in these projects through the Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada plan. The Government of Ontario is providing over $941,000. The recipients are contributing more than $753,000 toward their respective projects.

Rehabilitation of Community Centre and Adjoining Library Facility |
Project work includes installing LED lighting, replacing windows, and increasing insulation in both the town community centre and library. Renovations will also replace the carpet in the library, and upgrade washroom facilities in the community centre to provide better accessibility. These improvements will provide greater access to quality community, cultural, and recreation programing for area residents, seniors, and vulnerable populations, ensuring that user needs are met. |

McNab Centre Park Building Replacement |
This project will replace an aged, non-accessible building to better support programming at four baseball diamonds in Arnprior. Work includes reconstructing the building to accommodate more washrooms, a tournament room, storage space for landscaping equipment, and a canteen. The project will result in greater access to accessible community and recreation infrastructure, to better accommodate increased demand in the area. |
