Public spaces across the Northwest Territories to benefit from improved ventilation infrastructure

Federal funding of $4,150,000 is provided through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure stream (CVRIS) of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program and will support four projects in communities across the Northwest Territories.

Fort McPherson, Hamlet of

Fort McPherson Health Centre - Ventilation Upgrade

This project will improve ventilation equipment for the Fort McPherson Health Centre. Among the upgrades is the direct digital control system and undersized duct work that will increase ventilation capacity to reduce the spread of airborne viruses like the COVID-19 and create a healthier and safer environment for the people visiting the Centre.

Whatì Health Centre Dental Suite Upgrades

Improved ventilation system for the entire facility will be installed. These upgrades will support the ability to deliver dental services in the community, which will reduce patient travel and possible spread of Covid-19.

PWK School Air Handling Unit

Replacing the existing air handling unit will ensure increased air flow at the Paul William Kaeser High School. This project will improve the comfort and safety of students and staff.

Yellowknife, City of

Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre Duct Reconfiguration

This project will redesign the ductwork for several air handling units serving galleries in the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. This project will  allow free cooling during the shoulder season and improve the building environmental conditions for all people visiting the Heritage Centre.
