CUAET Temporary Accommodations
- On November 8,2023, overall occupancy was 89% representing 447 of 505 federally funded rooms in nine cities across Canada: St. John’s, Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.
- From July 4, 2022, to November 8,2023, 30,976 clients have received federally funded accommodation up to 14 nights; 187,327 total nights have been booked.
- Block booked rooms have been secured from January 1 –April 14, 2024.The footprint will remain at 505 rooms in January 2024, and increase to 900 rooms to cover the expected surge of arrivals in March and April 2024.
- For the period of October 30 to November 5, 2023 Military Travel Inc. (MTI) booked 115 on-demand hotel rooms in 11 cities across Canada: Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Ottawa, Brantford, Toronto, Fredericton, Halifax and Moncton. To date MTI has booked 1388 rooms totalling 8931 nights.
Note: IRCC is not tracking hotel occupancy (in/out), but rather how many required accommodations.
