Right of citizenship fee increasing soon

Ottawa, March 27, 2026—To help support the continued delivery of the citizenship program and keep pace with rising costs, the right of citizenship fee for adult applicants will increase on March 31, 2026.

The right of citizenship fee will increase by $3.25 from $119.75 to $123. The adult citizenship grant application processing fee remains unchanged at $530.

Under the Service Fees Act, certain government fees are updated annually based on inflation. The right of citizenship fee is adjusted each year in line with this requirement to help maintain sustainable and consistent service over time.
