About the conference

Can artificial intelligence (AI) be harnessed for the public good? Is governmental algorithmic a technology for public administration?

The Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in partnership with the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO) and the Canada School of Public Service will host the Symposium on Algorithmic Government. As a leader in the technological introduction of AI within public administration, IRCC will bring together industry, academia, and the public sector. The goal is to stimulate dialogue related to the responsible and transparent implementation of these technologies in support of a more efficient and robust public service delivery.

This conference has limited space and is for data scientists, IT AI infrastructure and tool enablers, managers, policy analysts, legal advisors or those involved directly or indirectly in AI projects in the public sector. It is a chance for us to talk about ways to adopt these technologies in a responsible, secure and progressive way. The conference will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions and workshops. The focus of the conference will be to discuss and highlight the challenges, opportunities and solutions for embracing these new technologies.
