Ottawa Ontario – (November 7, 2015) – The Honourable Carolyn Bennett Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs issued the following statement today on the occasion of Inuit Day:

"I applaud and congratulate the Inuit of Canada as they celebrate Inuit Day. Today is an occasion to celebrate Inuit accomplishments, their communities and their culture with their International family.

Today is also an opportunity for all Canadians to reflect on the important relationship and history we share with the Inuit of Canada as we move forward in our journey of reconciliation and a renewed relationship between Canada and Indigenous peoples."
