Special Celebration Event for the Tla'amin Treaty Coming into Effect

Ottawa - Please be advised that the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, along with Minister John Rustad, Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation from the province of British Columbia and Hegus Clint Williams of the Tla’amin Nation are pleased to invite media representatives to attend a special Celebration event to acknowledge the coming into effect of the Tla’amin Treaty.

The day’s activities will include a totem pole blessing ceremony as well as a community celebration that will include songs and dances, speeches and a gift exchange. There will be a media availability and many photo opportunities.
