Nisichawaysihk Cree Nation Addition to Reserve Land for Mystery Lake Hotel Complex Complete

The Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, today congratulated Nisichawaysihk Cree Nation on the announcement that their Addition to Reserve of land at Mystery Lake Hotel Complex is complete.
The Addition to Reserve will create an urban reserve of 1.702 hectares (4.21 acres) within the City of Thompson, Manitoba. It will also advance economic development opportunities, including employment for First Nation members, allow for greater First Nation autonomy, and demonstrates First Nation and Municipal collaboration through a Municipal Services Agreement.
Adding to reserves is one method in which First Nations and the Government of Canada are working in partnership to build healthier, more sustainable communities through encouraging economic development opportunities.
