Media Availability with Ministers Bennett, Hajdu, and Wilson-Raybould

Ottawa - Please be advised that the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, along with the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Status of Women, and the Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, will make an important announcement regarding Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

The announcement will be available online via live webcast video through the link provided below.

The announcement will be followed by a media availability in the RiverView Salon at the Museum of History with all three Ministers, as well as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Status of Women Anju Dhillon.

A technical briefing with Departmental officials will be held prior to the announcement. The technical briefing will answer questions of a technical nature related to the establishment of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. This technical briefing is meant for background purposes and is not for attribution.

The Ministers will be meeting with family members and loved ones of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls following the announcement at a private event. Please note that out of respect for the privacy of attendees, this event is not open to the public or media.
