Ms. Mavis Cli-Michaud appointed as Chair of the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board

The Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, has appointed Ms. Mavis Cli-Michaud as Chair of the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board (MVLWB).
Ms. Cli-Michaud, whose appointment is for a period of 3 years, was selected from a pool of highly qualified Board nominees presented to the Minister.
Established under the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act, the MVLWB is responsible for issuing land and water authorizations for transboundary applications involving settlement areas, as well as regions outside of settlement areas, and ensures consistent application of land and water management throughout the Mackenzie Valley.
