Minister Carolyn Bennett and Grand Chief Dr. Matthew Coon Come of the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) / Cree Nation Government to Sign the Agreement on Cree Nation Governance

Ottawa – Please be advised that the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, and Grand Chief Dr. Matthew Coon Come of the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) / Cree Nation Government, will sign the Cree Nation Governance Agreement, a Nation to Nation agreement between Canada and the Cree Nation that advances Canada’s commitment toward a renewed relationship with Indigenous peoples based on recognition of rights, respect and partnership.
