Minister Carolyn Bennett to respond to the Interim Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and the Commission’s request for an extension

Ottawa – Please be advised that the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs, will respond to the Interim Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and the Commission’s request for an extension. Following the announcement, Minister of Status of Women, Maryam Monsef, and Minister of Indigenous Services Canada, Jane Philpott, will join Minister Bennett for a Question and Answer period.
Journalists are invited to participate in a technical briefing before the announcement with Senior Officials from Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs, Public Safety, Indigenous Services Canada, Status of Women Canada and Justice Canada. Relevant documents will be shared on-site and will be under embargo from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
