National Summit on Indigenous Mental Wellness to take place in Toronto on Friday, September 23, 2022

Ottawa, Ontario — Please be advised that a National Summit on Indigenous Mental Wellness will take place in Toronto on Friday, September 23. This summit will bring together Indigenous partners and front-line community experts to share and learn from the best mental health and wellness practices across the country. This summit aims to help community partners strengthen their networks of expertise and ultimately improve the service delivery of mental wellness supports, substance use services and suicide prevention in Indigenous communities.

Breakout sessions will be closed door. However, media are invited to attend opening and closing remarks delivered by Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services, and Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health. Media will have access to speak with participants and ministers between sessions and during health breaks as opportunities allow.

If needed, a room will be available to media on site for those attending.
