Headed by the Board's Chairperson, Mr. Bruno Hamel, a delegation from the CFGB visited Maritime Forces Atlantic in Halifax on June 3-4. During the visit, the Board's delegation met with Rear-Admiral Paul Maddison, the Commander of MARLANT, and toured several MARLANT units. The Board also conducted briefing sessions for CF members to explain the CFGB's distinct and independent role in the resolution of military grievances.

"Command visits are an important part of the CFGB's outreach activities," said the Chairperson. He added that the MARLANT visit, in addition to giving the Board an idea of the current real-life conditions in the East Coast Navy," allowed the Board to reduce the confusion sometimes associated with its role and mandate and provided us with a great opportunity to exchange information about issues and concerns related to complaint resolution." The visit was also "a great opportunity to meet some exceptional personnel and to see first hand MARLANT's leadership commitment to conflict resolution and improved conditions of service," he said.
