A delegation from the Canadian Forces Grievance Board (CFGB) visited 8 Wing Trenton on September 9 and 10.
Headed by the Board's chairperson, Mr. Bruno Hamel, the delegation included the vice chairperson, Mr. Jim Price; Board members, Michael Auger, Fred Blair, Denis Brazeau and Carina Anne De Pellegrin; senior legal counsel, Ann Boivin and senior grievance officers, Sophie Brunette, Tasha Emmerton, Tamarah Nutik and Alan Rigby.
During the visit, the Board met with senior officers and were briefed by personnel from the 429 Transport Squadron, the 2 Air Movements Squadron, the 8 Air Maintenance Squadron, the Canadian Forces Aerospace Warfare Centre and a Wings Logistics and Engineering Officer.
The Board's staff was thrilled to have the opportunity to view first-hand the CC 177 Globemaster III strategic and tactical transport aircraft and to learn about the various technologies used by our Canadian Air Force personnel in their day-to-day activities.
"The CF middle-level managers we met were very engaged in learning more about the CF complaint resolution process and in questioning the process itself and the value-added of the Board's input," said the Chairperson. "These occasions allow us to address the confusion sometimes associated with the Board's distinct and independent role within the CF grievance process by explaining what we do and how we do it," said Mr. Hamel.
