Éric Dubeau

Eric Dubeau is a singer-songwriter who has released three albums and performed hundreds of concerts in Canada, Louisiana and Spain. He was the youngest-ever winner of the Ontario Pop Contest and has served as the music coordinator for the Franco-Ontarian Games, in addition to having been a member of Canada’s Song Delegation to the 2001 Jeux de la Francophonie and the patron of the first Quand ça nous chante festival. He also won the Bureau de promotion de la Zone francophone’s national tracking competition and the Prix du 400e de la francophonie en Ontario, and he was a finalist in the Songs from the Heart competition.

Dubeau held management positions in government and civil society organizations for over 15 years. As head of francophone partnerships at the Ontario Arts Council, he was responsible for all the province’s grant programs supporting francophone artists and arts organizations. As Executive Director of the Fédération culturelle canadienne-française (FCCF), he managed Canada’s largest francophone arts and culture network.

Since 2014, he has assisted organizations across Canada in their management, planning, research and positioning projects. He is also the author of a white paper on French-language arts and culture in Ontario, published by l’Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario.

Dubeau has served as Co-Chair of the Canadian Arts Coalition, President of the Association des professionnels de la chanson et de la musique (APCM), spokesperson for the Alliance culturelle de l’Ontario, and Vice-President of the Coalition for Cultural Diversity. He was also a member of the Table nationale sur l’éducation and is currently a member of the Ontarians for the Arts steering committee. He holds a master’s degree in Public Policy, Administration and Law.

He was born in Perkinsfield, on the shores of Georgian Bay, Ontario.
