2023 Annual Report of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians Tabled in Parliament

Ottawa, June 5, 2024 — The 2023 Annual Report of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) was tabled in Parliament today.

The report was submitted consistent with subsection 21(1) of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians Act. It provides an overview of the Committee’s work over the past year. It discusses challenges related to accessing documents and government responses to recommendations. It also presents a summary of the Committee’s 2023 reviews.

The report was delivered to the Prime Minister on April 10, 2024.

Background

NSICOP was established under the NSICOP Act on June 22, 2017. It may review:

NSICOP members hold the highest level of security clearance, are bound by the Foreign Interference and Security of Information Act and meet in private.
