Minister O’Regan to Make Tidal Energy Announcement  

OTTAWA — The Honourable Seamus O’Regan, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, will make a tidal energy announcement at the Marine Renewables Canada 2020 Fall Forum.

COVID-19 Public Health Directives:

• Everyone who travels from outside Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador) into Nova Scotia must self-isolate for 14 days when they arrive in Nova Scotia, or for the duration of their stay if this is less than 14 days, and must complete a Safe Check-in Form (self-declaration).

• Travel within Atlantic Canada is permitted without the requirement to self-isolate for residents. 
  • If you live in an Atlantic province, you need to show a government-issued identification card (driver’s licence, passport) that shows your proof of residency when you enter Nova Scotia. You don’t need to complete a Nova Scotia Safe Check-in Form before you travel to the province.
  • People from outside Atlantic Canada, who have already self-isolated in another Atlantic province for 14 days, may enter Nova Scotia without self-isolating again. They don’t need to complete a Nova Scotia Safe Check-in Form before they travel to the province.

• Atlantic Canadians and visitors must to follow public health directives while they're in Nova Scotia. They include:
  • Wearing a mask while indoors at all time (except when seated and eating/drinking);
  • Washing your hands before and after the event;
  • Keeping a distance of at least two arm’s length (approximately two metres) from others, as much as possible;
  • Avoiding common greetings, such as handshakes;
  • Coughing or sneezing into the bend of your arm;
  • Avoiding touching surfaces people touch often;
  • Self-monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19 before the event (including cough, fever, difficulty breathing) and remaining home if unwell.

• All attendees and participants of the Marine Renewables Conference must complete a COVID-19 screening checklist prior to entering the building. This checklist will be emailed to attendees 24 hours before the event and must be brought to the event. Staff will have additional checklists available on site if needed.
