Who we are
The RCN empowers all its people by valuing who they are, and fosters a culture of innovation. The professional excellence of the RCN’s sailors, combined with its effective fleet, ensures that Canada can defend its interests worldwide.
The sailors of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) are highly trained professionals coming from all walks of life. While recognizing our rich heritage and traditions, we are continuing to innovate to offer sailors a work environment that is inclusive, safe, respectful and supportive.

Our culture
As a military service, the RCN is moving forward together to root out unacceptable behaviours within our ranks, inequalities in our customs and traditions, and unequivocally take action where it is required. We must be the best we can be; the best Canada has to offer.
