Today, the Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada, announced more than $15.6 million through the Humanitarian Workforce Program to strengthen the Canadian Red Cross's readiness to respond when disasters occur. In May 2026, the Government renewed the Humanitarian Workforce Program and committed $108 million to strengthen Canada’s disaster response capacity. Today’s investment is the first project announced as part of that renewal, and additional projects will follow.

This week, the Government of Canada successfully priced its seventh issuance of Canadian-dollar-denominated green bonds, raising $2 billion in a new 10-year offering. This issuance saw robust demand from investors, with environmentally and socially responsible investors representing a significant share of buyers (44 per cent). The final order book stood at over $3.6 billion.
Canada and Yukon reach agreement in principle to improve access to health care

Today, the Honourable Brendan Hanley, Member of Parliament for Yukon, on behalf of the Honourable Marjorie Michel, Minister of Health, and the Honourable Brad Cathers, Yukon’s Minister of Health and Social Services, announced that Canada and Yukon have reached an agreement in principle to renew the Working Together bilateral agreement. Once finalized, the agreement will provide approximately $52.1 million over seven years to improve access to health care across the territory. The Yukon is the second territory to announce progress on renewing its Working Together Agreement, after the Northwest Territories earlier this week.
