The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today issued the following statement on the creation of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency by the Government of Canada 35 years ago
Canadian cities and towns flourish when they have community public spaces to promote social interaction and physical activity, and provide access to recreational programs and facilities. These amenities are integral to the overall well-being of individuals, families and communities. Our economic recovery is closely linked to the vitality of our local communities and their shared spaces.
“Tomorrow will mark the end of National Tourism Week in Canada. This week has been about acknowledging the resilience and determination of our tourism sector over the past two years As we celebrate all the places, people and experiences that make Atlantic Canada a world-class tourism destination, I want to thank the many businesses and close to 120,000 workers who so passionately lift this industry."
